Default Soooo.... Now what?

Cooling system taken care of
Clunk in suspension found and taken care of

Now it's time for something fun. My gf said she will getme headers for my bday. My exhaust manifold is leaking so it's just good timing. My q is do I have to shange my whole exhaust system to Add headers? Is 2.5 inch pipe enough to get good flow from headers? Should I put on a high flow muffler? Gut the cat?

Whole exhaust would not necessarily need replaced, but it is ot like original exhaust will bolt up to headers. It will take some cutting, modifying and welding. Ever install headers?

Depending on the headers you get they might just bolt up.

shorties typically fit pretty well.

At least that's what I've heard, I don't actually have any

Shorties will hook right up to the stock exhaust. Long tubes would take some massaging of the pipes. The cat on your truck is where the biggest restriction is. Gotta do something about that, if you want to get the full benefit of headers.

Pacesetter longtubes, and their off-road y-pipe would be a nice little bump in performance. Would still require some cutting of the exhaust though, I think the Y has the provisions for O2 sensors though.

HeyYou why do you have to describe it as "Massaging the pipe(s)?"
