Default Add. hoses cooler / expansion tank

Hi there, got myself a RAM V10 recently... great motor that.

Now digging into the details of it, and came across a second hose on the coolants expansion tank as well as an additional hose on the cooler itself. Both are unused apparently, as they are not attached to anything but hang loosely around.

System is full and working fine though...

Anyone in the knows what these hoses are for? Or maybe someone with pictures of their engine bay showing how it should look like??

THANKS!!

ZZ

Images are too small to see anything really. Instead of attaching them to the thread, upload them to photobucket, or imageshack, and then simply link to them in your post.

Should only be one hose to the coolant overflow tank, should come from just below the radiator cap, and hook to the tank.

Other hose may be the coolant tank overflow in which case one end would just hang down to drain coolant so overflowing coolant does not splash all over the place.

Sorry chaps, linked to the thumbnails by mistake... Here we go with a bigger version

Expansion tank overflow makes sense. In this case I'll leave it hanging down for drainage. Still wondering about the one at the cooler then... (the cut one currently bent upwards)

The one on the radiator is for the trans cooler. (auto trans.) I take it you have an aux cooler between the radiator, and a/c condenser?

Is there a way to get rid of the now useless trans cooler tube remainders by removing the connections? ... or will that result in coolant drainage.

Just unscrew them, and then cap 'em off. Shouldn't get any coolant out of them.
