I just got the address from this forum from a fellow dodge owner. I was asking him about the cracks in the dashes of Dodges. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2wd extended cab. It is cracked above the steering wheel pretty bad. It also has cracks on the passenger side. I can't believe that all these dashes are cracking like they are. Has anyone argued with Chrysler to see if they will replace the dash or is it something I am gonna have to have done?

Yes I have this problem on my 01 pisses me off to no end I want to keep my truck looking nice then you get in it to see that **** with cracks going all over it. I get upset just thinking about it. The dealer told me a replacement was $680 I'll be damned if I'm going to pay that for it to happen again.

I've posted this over at the Dodge Dakota section (not sure how I ended up there, but the Dakotas have the same problem). There is an overlay made by Coverlay Manufacturing in San Angelo, Texas. Their website is www.coverlaymfg.com Better to go direct to coverlay than pickupspecialties (they are more expensive and simply have coverlay send the unit).
I've seen the product, but haven't bought one yet. Anybody tried installing one of these? My concern would be that the squeaking sounds from the cracks would not be fixed by this.
