Can someone post some pics of this area that is good for cracking? I never noticed any cracks on my 01 yet, i want to see where to look at for sure. Grr....
I'll do it today!
Edit: Ok, I didn't want to start a reply under my post so I'll just start with this with some pics of my Grand Canyon cracks. I'm almost embarresed to put this up here but I bought other mods to my truck before a dash.

HOLY CRAP, my dash has not done this yet, knock on wood. I'm gonna keep it moist with Meguires vyinal protectant/shine. That stuff is seriously 80 times better than Armor All. Thanks for the pics.

Mine has done the same thing, and it is very frustrating.

I took mine in under warranty and the dealer sympathized with me. He said they have had literally dozens of the Gen2 Ram come back with the same problem. He told me that of the dozens that have cracked, Dodge has only authorized 2 replacements because of the proximity to the Air Bag. He gave me the super secret Dodge number to call myself, and I got the typical run around of "This is not a common problem among the 2001 model" yeah right...

Anyway, we have a guy in a nearby town that is attempting to organize a class-action suit in regards to the Dodge dash. I hope he is successful.

I may opt for the coverlay product.

Mine is a 2001 1500 quad and out of the clear blue I get in my truck this AM and there is a crack running from the wind trim completely thru the dash and ending somewhere behind the passenger side air bag. Wasn't there when I drove home last evening. My truck is only 4 years old, very high mileage (148800) but still looks great. I have had really great luck with the truck and was seriously thinking about replacing it soon with another Ram. The truck has never given me any real problems, replaced the ac compressor and had more front brake jobs than I can count. Now I am not so sure. Don't know if I will do anything to repair it since I am replacing the truck soon but sure think Dodge should do something about such an obvious defect. If any class action starts, count me in.

How hard is it to remove the top dash cover so i can cry when I hand the $400 over to the dealer for the new top? I think it's also a load of crap that Dodge won't do anything about there mistake to save some money. This really hurts Dodge and is going to cost Dodge some money since the customers won't come back if they're not taken care of. I myself have a 2000 Ram Sport QC and is my 3rd ram but the only one with this issue. Any good sites to serve as a guid to take the dash top out. I heard it quite time consuming but I figure a good weekend project. Thanks everyone, and my email is blackbeautyram_98@yahoo.com...yeah I haven't updated my email to my new truck. Later

I also heard that the covers look like crap but would like someone's opinion on it. How do they look? Is it worth the money? Thanks
