You can grab the 96 service manual from the service manual thread in the faq section here. Its stickied, so, will be in the set at the top of the first page.

You should chat with hemifever, and get a manual trans tune for your truck. That will eliminate all the auto trans codes it is going to be kicking out, since the trans isn't there. Otherwise, the CEL will be on constantly.

On page 8W-21-3 of the manual it shows the clutch position switch.
Which acts as the neutral safety switch.

You still want to know if the PCM is annoyed about something the engine is doing..... I know the tuner is a couple hundred bucks....... but, do it once, do it right, and don't worry about it again.

Do I have to keep it or could I just set it and unplug and it work? Because the only other code I get is an o2 sensor and a random misfire till I changed my plugs

All it does is reprogram the PCM. You don't have to leave it plugged in, but, you wouldn't be able to sell it either. It has the advantage of doing other tricks too as well. Rumor has it, it even does data logging. (not to mention reading/clearing codes.)

Do you have the pigtail for the backup lamp switch for the manual trans?
Its a 2 pin connector.
On the neutral safety switch pin 1 and 3 are for the backup lights.
Pin 2 is the ground for starter relay.
Ground wire number 2 somewhere.
I would install the clutch position switch for safety reason's, don't want it starting in gear.
Then pins 1 and 3 get spliced to the pigtail pin 1 and 2 for the backup switch on the manual trans.
Pin 1 is 18VT/BK to 18VT/BK
Pin 2 is 18BR/LG to 18BR/LG
When you splice the wires solder and heat shrink them after you verified their wired correctly so you don't have issue's later on.

Don't know. That would be a question for Hemifever. (I never really cared for shift lights. I KNOW how to drive a manual trans, thankyouverymuch. )
