Warmer weather causing long crank?

Beg/borrow/rent a fuel pressure test gauge from your local parts store. First thing in the morning, put the gauge on the truck, crank the engine, see what your fuel pressure does. If it immediately comes up to 50PSI, but, the engine still doesn't fire, fuel isn't the problem.

where is the hook up for the fuel pressure gauge? its a 5.2

mine doesnt have a shrader valve

I think you have to hook up to the fuel line disconnect with an adapter. Someone will correct me though.

Wow, didnt know that the earlier models dont have that valve. I would guess that you would pull the supply line and use an adaptor in-line.

97 is kinda the red-headed step-child. Plastic fuel rail didn't have the test port. All the steel fuel rails do though.

been pretty busy fellas. ill update this thread with some after i replace a few sensors and if need be swap out the fuel pump. thanks for all the help guys
