Go to one of the Les Schwabs there or Perfection Tire and see what they find tire-wise. How was it coasting down the 90 hill into town? Or did you come from the east?
I don't know how I missed these two replies, but I appreciate them. Sorry It seemed like I just gave up but I haven't.

I usually come from the east and hit 195 south. I'll try perfection and if they can help more than Schwab, then they'll earn my business.

If your tires are that old, it's passed time to replace them. I suspect you are correct, and new tires will eliminate the vibration.

When I put 'new' (to me) tires on my 96, I was amazed at how different it drove. MUCH better than the old, ratty tires that had been on it.

Got it up on jack stands and got a couple videos, one of the tires from the side, then the tires from in front of the tire.

Thoughts?

What do you have a locker in the front? Or front wheel drive? How do you get BOTH front wheels to turn along with the right rear???

I still think you're tires are just old and worn. Even a bad lug can cause a vibe.

haha there’s no locker in the front, maybe since there’s no weight on them? Idk. When I had someone take it up to 60 mph all four were spinning. I think the driver rear shoes are hanging a bit, it was tough to spin by hand in spots, and wouldn’t spin at an idle as shown until it accelerated.

Well, there's no power to the front in 2wd unless you have CAD or xfer case issues which could very well be the cause of a vibe. The fronts should never turn on their own.

Ahhhhhhhhhh

Well I have a high frequency vibe for the past few years and it seems to go away when in 4hi so I may have a bearing going in the transfer case.

What's the speed/frequency of yours?

The speed is about 50 or 55 when it starts, calms down a bit at 60, then picks back up again at 65 and worse at 70. I never really get it above 70 when driving so not sure if it smooths out after that.

I think I've determined I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and get a new set of tires for it. Thinking of going Michelin LTX M/S2 or BFG AT KO2. Had the BFG KO1 years ago but they wore funny and I actually slipped a belt on one of them about 5000 miles in (which caused a vibration) so I wasn't impressed.

On my first ever set of BFGs and gotta say, now I know why they're the best selling tire! Super impressed after a year so far. They've been by far the best quality I've seen in any tire (5th set on this truck in 230k). Never did have the original KO but the KO2 won me over with the snowflake rating.

However, I gotta wonder if my high vibe is the tread pattern. Went through a horrible Cooper experience where the tread vibed terribly for years so I'm cautiously optimistic about them. This is so fast though it feels like clutch or output shaft really.

You can't go wrong with either really. Same company and the two best tires made. I'll never touch Nitto/Toyo or Cooper/Mastercraft/Dean,etc. again. Being you're in WA and near mountains, I'd get the KO2. Got my set of 33s from Discount for only $600 after they gave me 200 for the crap coopers and a BFG rebate.
