Default 2001 ram 1500 4x4 5.2 hard start won't idle

Ok guys I am in trouble and I need your help.

Problem: my truck only starts when the gas pedal is to the floor. I have to keep it on the floor to keep it running. It Will not idle.

Things I did before the problem: intake gasket,IAC sensor,Fuel injectors,Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, off valve hose, thermostat, thermostat housing.

CURVE BALL: i had it running with the air box off after I did all this work and It was running fine but I heard what I thought was a vacuum leak so I started looking around. Well I thought to myself. Maybe it's just the throttle body being wide open and I'm not used to the sound. I put my hand over it and the (iac) area sucked my hand to it. It stalled out. Now I have my problem....

Thank you all in anvace for taking time out of you day just to read this and help out a stranger..

What year is your truck? What motor?

Sounds like the temp sensor the PCM uses isn't working, isn't hooked up, or has a bad connection.....

Welcome to DF.

Ok thank you. I know it is not plugged in because i acciaccidentally broke the sensor and haven't replaced it yet. I will be doing so within the next half hour.

Yup. Without that sensor, the PCM thinks it's -40 degrees outside, and positively DUMPS fuel, trying to get a mixture that will burn. Floods the engine out in seconds. It simply will not run that way. (unless it really is -40 out......)
