That's what I thought, but I didn't want to steer him wrong.

It might be worth checking the fuel sync (injector timing). Ignition timing is controlled by the PCM. If they turned the distributor to try to adjust timing, they screwed up the fuel sync.

OK here's the update, still a crank no spark situation. I have "narrowed it down" sort of. I tested the power at the connector going to the ignition coil with a test light and multimeter. I have no power going to the coil, and also, I noticed that the oxygen sensors have no power as well and the fuel injectors too I'm guessing. They are all controlled by the ASD relay which I checked is getting 12 volts supply to it and clicks when the ignition is turned to the run position. Electrical issues are not my strong point so I'm stumped and going to have to do some research on it and learn a few things I guess. Anybody have an idea where to start first? Thanks again. I thought from reading other posts it could be a bad fuse box, but all other circuits I've tested not connected to that one seem to work fine. I don't want to tow the truck to a mechanic as I'm doing this on a budget.

Swap the ASD relay with another one, horn relay maybe. See if anything changes.

Nope, no change in the problem after doing a relay swap.

You will only get power to the coil, injectors, O2 sensor heaters, etc. for about three seconds after turning the key on, unless the PCM sees the motor turning. (crank sensor.) Do you EVER get voltage to any of them? Does the fuel pump prime?

Fuel pump does prime and I have pressure tested it to check and you can hear it.I was under hood about ten minutes ago and found by accident that one of the three in a cluster ground straps on the passenger side which attach to the body and the back of the engine is not connected to the engine. Don't know what if that may be the issue. Also, where do they attach onthe back of the motor? They darn sure make it difficult to see where it attaches. I'm wondering if they all attach to the same point on the motor or different.

Grounds probably go to a bolt, or stud, on the back of the head. Might be able to feel around, and find the other end of it....

Do you get power to the coil, etc, for a couple seconds when you first turn the key on?

My ground straps got to the PS bracket, stud on valve cover, and alternator bracket that goes to the intake
