What does the temp sensor say? I think they add fuel if they fail and say it's cold. Hey You knows more than me though.

Ok, I bought a dealer crank sensor for $120.00 and it still did not fix the problem. Does the pig tail wrap behind the distruputer or in front of the distruputer? What is the MAP supposed to read at idle. I’m not that elevated living in centeral VA.

Temp sensor seems like it’s correct

The early trucks had a sensor for the gauge and a second sensor for the ECM. They went to a single sensor in 96 or 98. If you have 2 sensors, you need a scanner to see what temp the ECM thinks the engine is.

Sensors changed in 98, so, his truck will have two. One for the gauge, one for the PCM.

Default Still having problems

I did a compression test for 7 cycles each and the engine sits around 150 on average. I replace the cam sensor again and still no luck. I completely isolated all of the vacuum lines and nothing. I hooked up and actual vacuum gauge and it is still around 23inhg but the Map sensor says 7inhg. The temperature seems looks good acrroding to my scan tool. I’m so confused as to what I did, because nothing makes sense to me. Lately I’m wondering if I linked a wire or something. But I single and move all of the wires and it doesn’t really do anything.

So what are you missing? Are you getting spark? Do you have good fuel pressure? Are you getting injector pulse?

Default Update

I just replaced all of the sensors with stock MOPAR sensors, (Map, IAC, TPS, Cam coil and crank sensor). But, I am still getting a P1391 with a rough idle. This thing is driving me 😜

i have spark, it will run with my foot on the gas or if I put the idle screw in several turns. It starts for a second every time and then stumbles out.

Check connections at the PCM. Make sure they are clean, and tight.
