No I haven’t pulled the distributer or even lossened it, but (TDC) seems odd to me. I feel it is a couple of degree off of TDC but I don’t know if I’m reading it wrong or the chain is stretched. It has 305k and still kicking, but boy this is kicking my butt

And is your Cat clogged? Your distributor could be worn out with all those miles. I don't remember if we asked about the plenum gasket. I guess I'd start with testing the circuit and the PCM first though. That and clean all of your ground cables and wires.

I believe the chain is originally, but compression is good. Probably a good time to change it either way. I will check the PCM circuit and report back

Put the engine on TDC and have someone watch the distributor rotor. Turn the engine backwards and see how far it moves before the rotor starts moving.

He ^^^^ was right about multiple issues. I'm surprised it ran at all with the broken case on the coil.

Dang, well i guess you don't need to get the ohmmeter out for that one. ^ I'm surprised that was running too, or at least throwing some random misfire code. I would get one from the dealer and be done with it. The part store ones are junk imo. Some guys might have good experiences with other name brands.that are reliable.

This almost sounds like a fuel problem (you holding the gas). Check fuel pressure and for injector pulse. You can rent the noid lights from your local auto parts store or Harbor Freight sells them for about $50. Then we can take it from there. How does it run when you punch the pedal? Feel any vibrations? When my 360 Durango did they the crank sensor wire got rubbed and was causing a sorry. You said you are in Virginia where at?
