Found this line cut while experimenting with 02 sensor issues (unplugging each one then both etc).
What is it for? The first pic is the cut line and
the second pic is where the line runs to.
That's a metal vacuum line for your 4wd. They means you have a vacuum leak. They run to the CAD (Central Axle Disconnect) which is what moves a collar to engage 4wd.
Thank you. I've never used the 4x4 but I just put it in. The 4wd light comes on and I can feel the change in the trucks driving straight but...
I cant turn at all! It makes a snapping, crunching noise when I try both ways. I have to put it in 2wd, stop, park, and back to drive in order to turn freely again.
Don't use 4wd on high traction surfaces..... you will break things. If you still hear the noise on gravel, or grass, can you tell where the noise is coming from?

Ahh thanks. I'll test it when I get home. I was in a parking lot.
I found a large plot of grass to roam around. The 4wd had no issues turning, so thanks for the lesson. I did not hear the noise at al and I dont dare to test it on the road either.
I also do not hear the clattering noise in 2wd which is pretty awesome! Unless it just comes back now and then.
The only thing I noticed, is that when I go from 4wd to 2wd, the light flickers off and
on for 5 to 10 seconds. I dont know if this is a period where it's trying to go back maybe due to that vacuum line or just a sensor/issue of some sort.
Regardless, I'm glad that it doesnt have a major issue with the 4x4! For now 😏
