Just got back from the junk yard. Picked up a factory 2003 2500 track bar. Now need to order the bracket and some new bushings... and figure out if I want to sandblast that bar, or just wirebrush.

Yes, I have. I just checked the old shipping container for my Solid Steel adjustable track bar and I had sourced it through Pure Diesel Power out of Sumas, WA back in 2012. They were great to work with at that time. The salesman explained that the Solid Steel adjustable track bars were made in Canada and their Pure Diesel location was close to Solid Steel's factory in Canada.

Weird seeing a hemi 3/4 ton 3rd gen in the pick-n-pull. They didn't have any 3rd gens until this year... thinking the 2nd gen yard stuff is going to dry up. Those AAM axles looked pretty clean(not much rust); now I'm wondering how they fit 2nd gens.

Not sure where you read that or if you're talking about the AAM swap, but I'm reading that there are a few challenges. Spring perches need to be moved and a custom driveshaft to accommodate for the flange on rear pinion. I have not discovered the overall length comparison yet. The AAM I looked at probably has rear discs, which probably means I'll need to put in an adjustable proportioning valve to dial in the brakes... My D60 needs limited slip work, driveline guy says $600... but then the AAM might need work too, don't know.
My bad for deviating from the thread subject though... It took me over an hour to get the outer shell of the bushings out of the third gen track bar, didn't have something the right diameter to push it through with the press. Used a combo of chisel, vice and hacksaw to get them to collapse enough to come out. But the shells are out without any damage to the bar surfaces.
Cleaned the bar with my variable speed grinder and fine wire cup brush, then with some 60 grit sand paper. Hit it with soap/water, then wax/grease remover. Then coated with Corroseal to convert the leftover rust. You have to wait 24 hours to topcat Corroseal, so it won't see paint until tomorrow evening. Debating weather i pull out the Omni satin black urethane, or just rattle can it with Rustoleum. Rustoleum is fast to apply, slow to dry... Omni is the opposite. The bar wouldn't fit in my blast cabinet, and I had no desire to take a sand bath yesterday (or basically any day).
Ordered Energy Suspension bushing from Amazon - saved $4 by going with red (can't really see them anyway) Plan to order the SSI bracket from PDP on Monday. Will probably take a couple weeks to get it, since it sounds like a drop shipment deal from SSI - and from what they claim, SSI doens't carry any inventory on those.

From what I read and seen over on Pirate Off-road they are a direct bolt in other then the driveshafts. Guy used PW axles so he could have E lockers. He had driveshafts made for about $600 for both. He showed before and after pictures and everything looked like it lined up. That was about 2 years ago because I searched the subject to use PW axles I have found back then.
Back to the subject of the thread lol I use Krud Kutter and like it very much as it's water based.
I'll go to the yard and take some measurements first hand. It was on the truck I pulled the track bar, I just glanced at them and said - dang those aren't rusty looking at all.
The rear D60 with 4.10s out of the 2000 2500 I had been thinking about dragging home looked like it was in the ocean for a few years... I think that one will go to the crusher, I'm not interested

If your D60 has a Power lock limited slip unit, hopefully, all it will need is clutches, as those are the most common parts that wear. If it only needs a clutch pack, you could replace those yourself, since there would be no gear setup at all - just pull the cover and remove the carrier, replace the clutches and re-install.
I agree that the rusty D60 you found needs to stay in the junkyard..

From what I'm reading, it looks like the tracloc is what came in these D60s for the 2nd gen. Driveline guy says that the carrier is often damaged when the clutches are shot. Price wise, I got the idea that he just included the cost of a new carrier thinking the one in there now is screwed. New carrier means new shim pack config, and I don't have the right tools for that job.
