Usually the drums get a rust lip on the part that goes against the backing plate. When I did mine I had to hammer them on (lightly). There are different drums for 95-98 but I believe it's only the depth not the circumference

so i guessing truck is a half breed.. but both drrums wont go on though???

The drums are the same from 99-00. I know for a fact the pads for thinner but I don't think the drums for bigger. Let me take a look real quick

this is been one hell of a year and i have had nothing but problems

started with the 4x4 then the universals then the front brakes on here now i had headache with the back brakes.. and the parts store said in 99-00 was a bad year for dodge they were getting GM brakes etc as dodge didnt make brakes.. and there is multiple listings for same vehicle

so its been a **** show last month or more trying to fix this truck with ur guys help lucky i stuck at home and still have a car.. but frig and then any parts i didnt open i returning as i got new hardware kit with the adjuster but i reusing the old one..
and i cant get the damn breather or that vent pipe dealer only kinda thing... carquest may get it if i get them the part number lol no listing for this truck lol smacks hand against forehead

i bought 2 of these boxes from car quest i dunno if that helps u
reason being the Clip that goes on the pin for the adjuster to pivot on wouldnt go on.. the 2nd box 1 would go on.. so out of 2 boxs 4 shoes with the adjuster pin 1 would go fit.. so i was going to file the clip so the clip would fit in it
i dunno if its the wrong brakes then or what?

Not the e-brake holding things out just a bit is it??

Can you give me a shot straight on the axle, from about six feet away, showing the relationship between the shoes, and the backing plate? Nice BIG picture would be good.

i cant get better really only because wall of my garage in the way and the door is frozen so i can lift to get a wide shot of the axel etc but hope something you can use.. if not good enough ill try to get better pics tomorrow.. cuz its frustrating had nothing but issues as parts that suppoos to fit dont and such

I'm not really seeing anything wrong there..... Maybe the shoes are a bit lower than they should be, but, not like you can do anything about that....... Was the rear end swapped out on your truck at some point? Might need to get the BOM numbers off of it, and see if you can look it up somewhere. (Chrysler corporate rear though, so, god only knows if that info is even available anywhere.....)

i dont know if it was ever swapped before i bought it. how you tell.. i do have a parts truck i bought for parts so id have to get that off the ground out of the ice and hope i can get the drum off.. i was hoping youd say the measurements of the drum are night right the 10 15/16 or so
and this BOM where i find that.

so your saying this truck has covid and the infected 2020 lol and it be a year before i fix this truck lol i wont be fixing it this year lol frig

so i dunno what to do??? will the old pads say anything if i send pics of it?
