Do you suggest, labeling each connection, take out the entire harness, go through each wire? Does the interior harness play a role in this?

Taking it out is a major pain, so, I would look at that as a last resort. Check voltages on the sensor feeds, and see what you are getting. Something backfeeding 12 volts onto the 5 volt circuit will play hell with the sensors.... I have seen the 8 pin connector down at the trans have the wires pull out, so you get exposed wire, and they can short very easily. But, that's only one spot.....

See that you are getting cam, and crank signals, sensor reference voltage is correct, etc. There are MANY possibilities for problems there......

No never solved however I have not messed with it much since my last post. In the near future I will be replacing my PCM and/or checking the harness. When I changed the cap and rotor once before i had the same issue and I totally forgot about it. I ended up changing the cap and rotor which had the little button in the middle that was stuck. I put a new one that wasn't stuck and the problem went away. I don't remember if I checked that after I made the initial post so I need to check that out...

EDIT: I in fact did check and replace the cap so it isn't that.

Would faulty crank sensor(not mopar) cause spark to fade at certain rpm range?

Entirely possible. Is the check engine light flashing as well?

It is not but atm the problem has gone away so I wont know until it returns. I think I will go ahead and order one regardless but I cannot find a Mopar one anywhere unless the dealer has one. I will not order the AutoZone one that I have now though.
