I would just keep it though, I'm not following that part of the suggestion as you need an NV4500 input shaft for your transfer case, or use the one from the donor truck

I'll be using the trans and case from the donor. I can't keep the donor truck because I'm in the city and have absolutely nowhere to store it. Im just taking the manual parts plus driveshafts and all the cosmetics off it. Cant keep the body or axles.

Does anyone have a Pic of crank sensor, reverse light sensor and neutral safety switch? How are we going about bypassing that? I stripped the cosmetics I'm keeping today and will be pulling the trans and components this weekend.

I will get pictures of my stuff tomorrow but as of rn I don't have reverse lights turn on yet but my neutral safety allows the truck to start in gear or out of gear

Crank sensor is between the engine and trans at the 2 oclock position looking from the rear. Reverse sensor is front left top of trans i believe, the NV4500 has been a minute

There is no NSS in the trans, just the clutch pedal sensor.

the 2000 might have better luck swapping the PCM/wiring than the 97 did you originally posted about.

the pcm is no good in the 2000 donor. I was more so referring to the NSS on my 2002 with the auto that is getting the manual. Want to make sure it'll start when I get it swapped and hit the key 🤣 also I don't mind the permanent cel as I don't have to get an inspection and the light has already been on for years. And what would I connect the clutch pedal sensor too?

There is likely a clutch switch mounted in there somewhere. The connector for it is still there, even on auto trans trucks, but is already bypassed. Just need to deal with the neutral safety circuit, and the truck should start.
