Your Plenum Gasket Pictures -- Post Up

for showing what people have for doing the plenum gasket change out in various forms.
Recently I had the M1 intake off and ran the stock Keg for 8 months. I decided to try and keep the stock steel plate and use the OEM replacement gasket. Yes, that gasket is different from the original installed at the factory during engine assembly. Along with this 8 month swap was also a PCV obtained from pappa Mopar at the dealership.
The results after 8 months of daily driving and multiple wheeling trips is:
Gasket remains intact and the inside is the cleanest I've ever seen. I was also running Mobil 1 oil. I can take more pictures if desired as the keg is just sitting in the garage.
With this experience, I'd say the OEM replacement is fine, but more importantly is a PCV as that dictates how much oil does get in assuming the gasket is intact and all other things being up to spec (i.e., vacuum, etc.).

Here's what mine looked like... Didn't experience many "symptoms" but at 120k miles, i figured it needed done and it failed the magnet test. Getting replaced with the ebay plate. Wonder how much oil I've been sucking...

The gasket overall doesn't look bad, and some pics here show a lot more fresh oil than mine, but that's more oil than I'm comfortable with- specifically the pooling at the top of the image. At this point, the gasket is very tough and brittle- just looking at it sideways causes it to crack. My guess is that even though it didn't blow out it got rigid enough to allow oil to seep in underneath.
Oh, and all 12 manifold bolts came out for me without issue. I just soaked them in PB Blaster for 2 days before I started disassembly.

I'll probably be attempting this fix in the upcoming weeks. I'll update with gasket pics when I do the swap.

Just had a code P0171 1/1 Lean pop up on my 2001 318 and decided to check my plenum as see this in the TB, how does it look to you guys? Do I need to replace the plenum from the looks of it? Thanks in advance!

Doing timing chain and gears too. Makes a big difference in how the truck runs.
