Just a head's up. The official word from SC posted on another site...

Quote:

Hey 4.7 guys, try updating your tuner and get the trans option....it worked for me. I was a little peeved that I would have to pay for it and the hemi guys don't. I checked the trans tuning option, put in the code to get it free and it downloaded to my tuner. I just retuned the truck with adjusted torque management and it worked. I just put all tm values at 10.00. Just got back from a test drive and...WOW! Tomorrow I will mess with the shifts. Hope it works for you too!

if you were successful in downloading the files for your 4.7L be very careful as we do not have support setup for those models at this time.

We are planning to support them but need more test time. We do not recomend anyone download these files to their 4.7L until we can release a formal statement that they are 100%.

Yeah i've read about how the 4.7 should wait, but i hate waiting.

Anyways i guess i'll have to wait for the offciall release and then contact support.

Not working for me. Under vehicle 01, nothing shows up, just a black screen.

They might have locked out any 4.7l tuners, because the program is found with your VIN number. You are all updating your LOCKED tuner, correct?

Couple things...

First off, you're a bunch of vultures. It's not even 'programmed' for us yet and you're all over it like a crack ***** on a vial of rock! Haha

Second, I'm just as guilty as the rest of you though. I I did download the update to my programmer today too, but haven't tuned it to the truck and doubt I will. I wanted to get it for free (naturally) and figured why take the chance that they won't offer it gratis when it gets released for the Daks. It was available when I updated, so I figured why not get it while the gettin's free.

Third, I'm still under warranty for like 4 years/50,000 miles so to me it's not worth the risk. Once they test and tune it to make sure it isn't going to jack up my trans or transfer case, then I'll plug the tune in. I have the AWD transfer case so I def don't feel like turning that thing into a box of rocks.
