that must be it because i feel like my alt is struggling. I stil have the fan so when i start working again. ill try the spal controller. how does the spal work? does it multiply the power going through it.

 

The SPAL actually increases signal intensity to the fan making it spin faster. The fan is powered directly from the battery.

 

ok well thats probely why it wasnt working because i thought it woulda worked better then my clutch fan. when i start working ill redo it. hopefully make it look alittle cleaner.

 

Blown, are you saying that the SPAL controller boosts signal so the fan works harder than the set up I and Newmexico have?

I have heard it will free up about 10 HP, but that seams kinda high to me, probably better throttle response.
You will remove some parasitic loss from the engine.

 

Mine just arrived today, and just installed it.

Blown, did you block off the sides (open areas, about .800" wide, and go down the both sides of the fan shroud.)?

For those of you wanting to know if the Spal controller is worth it...it is. I am very impressed with the easability of installation and programming. This makes drivability a breeze.

 

I just installed mine today and left the gaps open and it worked just fine the temp gauge never went over half. How cool does it keep your truck with the gaurds on the side?
