think this one, (below) would work better.

or am I missing something?
I ended up using Auto Zone, TorqFlo Adjustable Electric Fan Thermostat part # 733647. Cost $35 and works great.

Blow what Spal wire kit do we need. What temp does the stock thermo open up at. Can we wire the fan up so we can turn it on and off when I please and that I dont need it to be hooked up with the stock thermo?

I'm using the SPAL PMW but there are newer versions.
The stock thermostat runs at about 200 degrees. Most people prefer to use a 180 T stat instead.
Yes, you can wire a toggle switch for on and off.
Some controllers let you piggyback off the stock water temperature sensor. Others come with their own sensor.

Are you saying we can cut off the temp'. probe and put a connector on the probe wire and piggyback it to the stock temp'. sending unit?

It all depends on the sensitivity of the controller. With the one you have, I would not cut off the water temp probe, especially if its already in the radiator. The SPAL and other controllers have the ability to tap into the stock OEM sensor inputs.

Check it out, here is the tech manual for my SPAL.

Thanks, Newmexicodak.

Blown, not to get off the subject of the fan, but you mentioned an aftermarket water pump? I had thought about this. Which one are you looking at, do you have a link to it?
