Pulling The Heads

Its been fun so far. I made this procedure for pulling the heads with the timing chains still in place. All the pubs and experts say the chains have to come out, but I thought up a way to pull them with the chains in place, lol.
That 3rd cylinder is the point of fail for the headgasket. I shop-vacced about 8 oz of coolant out of it, lol.

Its very possible to warp a head. From what I'm reading your not doing the work yourself? If you are, turn the heads upside down and take a flat surface and put it along the heads. If there is enough room to slide a credit card under you have a warped head. Valve tick can be alot of things. Worn springs, improper lash adjustment, etc.

We used a straight edge and led flash light to check the talons head, one of those stainless steel ones from home depot. If you have a little rtv left on the head, it will show light under the straight edge.
just put the straight edge on the head, laying so the thin side is touching the head, then have a pal shine the flashlight on the other side. If your head is warped, it will be very obvious.
