What else is needed to have a supercharger installed? I mean are there any other mods that have to be done, or do they come as a kit? Just curious right now. want to know what kind of $$$ I need...for speed!

For a new kit/tuning you will spend around 6-8K
For a complete used kit you are looking at around $2,500.00-3K. This is for the minimum i.e. injectors, 2-BAR MAP, SCT tuning and blower kit.
Also, are you installing all the items yourself or paying a shop to do it.
Shop cost for install for a kit made for your truck will cost around 1k to $1,500.00 and will take them around three days to install and start tuning.
For a Kit not made for your truck around $3,000.00 for the install. You have to remember none of these kits are made for our trucks and take alot of modification.
wow, I cant fathom spending 5-8K on a $11000 truck. I dont think I could justify that on a NEW dakota...
That is kind of the point I've been trying to make. These mods are not simple mods and if you can't do them yourself you have to pay a shop alot of money to do them for you. We talk about nightshade, DIY spraypaint, DIY grilles, best looking rims, best leveling kit, etc. Thats cool, but since I've been on the DF G3 Dakota board I've seen two cam swaps. I've executed both of them.
One thing I tried to bring to this forum (and failed) was the admiration you see of modified vehicles for performance. Every truck club I have belonged to, every forum (other than this one) you see a genuine understanding of the time, skill and money involved in these modifications.
If you have the mechanical ability to install everything on your own you can easily be boosted for aroud $2,500.00 but if you can't be ready to spend $

This is very true especially if you go turbo. Turbos are cheap compared to superchargers.
hmm, turbo. I had been told (dont quote me, thought I read it on here somewhere) that a supercharger was cheaper than a turbo. What kinda gains would you see hp wise with a turbo? What are your opinions on cost?
