New Dakota owner, few questions
Hey, I just bought a new to me 07 Dakota.
Things in great shape, and I'm looking to put in an auto starter, some new rims, a better stereo and some new head lights.
Rims and headlights I can deal with on my own.
However, since I have the bench in the back seat, what's the ideal setup for some decent audio? Or am I stuck with just replacing the in-door factory speakers? If anyone has pics, that'd be awesome.
As well, I understand you need both dodge keys to install an auto starter? Is there any reason why? And is there a "better" command start company than others or are they generally the same?

Welcome to the forum! We will require pictures of your ride asap in order to divulge secrets...lol....need a few details to answer your questions though: is it a quad or club cab? what trim package? does it have the factory alarm system? V6 or V8? 4X4? By an "auto starter" is that a remote start feature your wanting? (start it from a distance). You can also use the search function and just type in what your looking for. There are tons of threads everything you have asked about. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to DF!
By your description I'm assuming you have the quad cab with four full doors. A few guys have hidden subs behind the seat backs, it has to be a small box and the sub can't be too deep but you can still get good sound. Ericemery has a setup like that with a small Alpine, I heard it in person at one of the meets and it hits pretty hard, sounded great.
For the remote start I would go with one of Directed Electronic's (DEI) brands, they're generally regarded as the best in the business. Viper or Python would be my personal choice. I have a Python 2-way security system with remote start in my truck and I love it. The system is expandable too so if I wanted to add extra sensors or capability I can just buy and install the module for what I want.

If you can be patient, DEI is developing/has developed the remote start from your Iphone or Droid. From what I read, its not perfected yet but its definetly getting there. If they can get 2 way remote start with complete up-to-date security status of the vehical, Ill be getting one on the truck.
