Default in need of advice

i just got a new cobra 29 series cb radio and need advice on where to put it thats out of the way. i tried to do it under the dash but with the center console it dosent fit. i was wondering if anyone has one, where they put it, how they wired it, and what they would have done different. as it stands im thinking the only place to put it is on the center of the dash but i want to keep it as out of the sightline and sun as possible.

I knew I saw someone who had a great idea to install a CB radio, and I finally found it.

It's just a bookend, but I'm sure it would be easy to fab something like it out of stronger material.

That would depend on if he has a 60/40 or the buckets with a real center console.

I just installed mine on top of the dashboard, right in the middle. I would prefer it not be there but I saw that as the only option (that I could think of). I'll take some pics so u can see what it looks like but I'd also be interested if anyone has some better options.

btw... I bought a Midland CB. It was cheap and had decent reviews but I won't recommend it. It occasionally won't turn on at all and I have to pop the hood and pull the fuse to get it to work. The reception isn't great either. I'll be checking with Amazon to see what their return policy is but not sure if it will be worth it.

If you bought it from Amazon and not one of the e-tailers that use amazon, then it should be a fairly painless return. I don't even think you will need to pay the return shipping. If you are a Prime Amazon member, then I know you won't need to pay shipping.
