Default Replacement Rear Bumper?

Hi, I've searched all the threads and can't find a definitive answer, which is why I'm making a new thread. Go easy on me if it should be an obvious answer, I'm new here.

I have what used to be my Dad's 2008 Dodge Dakota TRX4 Extended Cab, and before it came into my possession he had a handful of "accidents." I don't know if this is the result of one or multiple accidents, but the rear bumper is in pretty rough shape (it's bent inwards and scratched up). It barely holds the current license plate in there, and I really don't think I could get a new plate to hold in there properly (which I'll likely have to try and do once I get it registered in my name).

Anyway, I'd like to get it to match my paint (flame red), but frankly I'm more interested in just getting one in good shape for starters. I can always paint it later if I hate the way it looks.

In a bunch of the old threads I saw, this bumper was always linked for people who needed a new one:
http://www.amazon.com/Westin-32016-P...pe=6&carId=001
Only problem is that that particular bumper doesn't look like mine. The Westin website says that particular bumper is good for 2005-2008 Dakotas (not Quad Cab), so I'm not sure if mine is considered Quad Cab or if it is just a different style bumper that will fit fine for me. I'm just worried that the hitch ball I have won't work with that bumper since it doesn't have the middle cutout like my current bumper does.

I found these other 2 bumpers that look like mine, but are a little more expensive and I really have no clue how good they are (both the selling company and brand):
http://www.andysautosport.com/dodge/...l00169603.html

and

http://www.partsgeek.com/hnvbzzw-dod...-+Action+Crash

With the Reflexxion one, it's a little odd because they have the one I linked (p/n 413841) and then another one at the same site (p/n 403841) that's also black but is $150 more.

If anyone could help shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. If the Westin one would work for me, that'd be great because it's cheapest and I have Amazon Prime so I'd be able to get it soon.

I can also include pictures of the damage tomorrow if it would be in any way helpful. Thanks.

Edit: I forgot I have some photos saved on my computer from when I had to e-mail my brother pictures of the truck.

edit2: Not sure why the 2nd picture is so small.

You could see if your local salvage yard has one, and clean it up and paint it.

The Reflexxion one is a pic of a older dak (98 to 04 i Believe)
The Action one is the correct one in the pic.
The Westin one maybe the correct one with a wrong picture.

All in all, its up to you. You can see if you can get another picture of the Westin one to confirm its the right one you need.

I painted my rear bumper and the plastic in Spray on bedliner that is UV resistant

You may be right about the Westin being the wrong picture. I've been looking at 05-07 rear bumpers, and aside from the Quad Cab models (which I didn't even know existed), and their bumpers look like mine.

And since the amazon link has a reviewer with a 2006 Dakota who was able to use the bumper, I guess that'll be the one I go with in a couple days. It's considerably cheaper than any other bumper I can find, even if it doesn't have the hole for the hitch ball.

I looked into local junkyards (at least ones with any sort of online inventory) and none have 3rd gen Dakotas on their lots.

Welcome to the 3rd gen dak part of dodgeforum. Don't worry about getting flamed here, these guys are awesome. Most times it's just as easy to answer a simple question as it is to flame someone for asking one. The guys here understand that, which is cool.

Well, I e-mailed Westin directly just to verify that the bumper would work for my model truck. Hopefully they get back to me on Monday.

The rear bumpers in LMC are priced very well.

They say only 97-06 models though. Is the 06 bumper the same as 08?

The rear bumper changed in 2005. The rear bumper from 2005-2012 should be the exact same.
