well i was all set to order it monday morning but that might have to wait now. last night we got about 18" of snow and i was on a back road where the drifts get pretty bad. i couldn't see the road at all but was using the fence on the left side and the telephone poles on the right side to judge where i was. i was only going 5-10MPH and i ran over something with the left side. i assume it was a large rock or something. i got out and checked and everything looked fine. went out just now and i have a very bad shimmy now. obviously something is bent somewhere. i'm gonna pull it in the garage tomorrow morning to check it out. i'm guessing either 1) rim, 2) steering component (tie rod or drag link), 3) axle. anyone have a guess as to what it might be from past experience? i have the stock 20" wheels and i would think they'd crack before they bend? i'll see what i can find then call the insurance company monday morning to see what they'll do.

any guesses?

Take it to a high pressure car wash and blow all the snow/ice out of the front end. You're probably OK.

got it all thawed and the shimmy is gone. fixed that. the steering wheel is slightly off center left but it tracks straight when i let go of the wheel. i'm thinking it was off slightly when it was new but i don't remember now. just kinda forgot all about it but now i notice it because i'm looking for something.

thanks

so whats the deal on the coupon code for the superchips?

well i just ordered it from truckcustomizers for $285. i'll have to experiment with different tunes to get the best trade-off between power and economy.

what did you guys figure out for tire size input for the stock 20's? i read that you are to leave it at the default, correct?

i'll keep everyone posted as to my results.

thanks,
danny

Why 91 tune with 93 octane instead of 93 tune with 93 octane? Just curious.

It's basically the same way we tune for power through fine tuning of the air/fuel ratios combined with timing adjustments which in turn makes the vehicle more efficient.

We take that same approach with the Mileage XS program with an emphasis on mileage over HP so as an example there might be a reduction in timing over our 91 performance program to achieve that goal.

But on another note, I never not once have seen SC give any charts or numbers on how XS works or how much it can help.

Dont take this the wrong way because I loved my 3865, but anyone can save gas by easing up off the gas pedal and keeping the RPMs down. But how does XS add help to that for an overall achievement?

Mine has the 93 tune. Does your older model 4.7 not get the 93 tune or something?
