Will Diablo ever produce a tuner that will fit the 4.7L trucks? I emailed them about this a year or 2 ago, before superchips made their tuner available to all 4.7L's, and a rep emailed me back telling me they were in fact planning on producing one and would be out at the next sema show. Not sure what happened.. Has anyone heard anything?
Well I certainly hope someone can help me here, and I apologize for how long this is but I need some of your insight. I got a Diablosport Predator for my 2007 and have recently installed the 93 tune. The tune works great for the engine, however it screws up my stereo so it won't power up. Before you reply please read the lengthy details below.
First of all the deck is a aftermarket Pioneer Premier series and it is installed with plug and play wiring harness. The harness is quite unique if anyone else has installed a aftermarket head unit you'd know. The wiring harness has a special box inline from the factory wiring harness to the deck. Not sure what this does but I think it has something to do with the computer in the truck. So I go to install the tune and shut off everything in the truck that is powered, yes including the deck, however the deck does not totally power down because it still displays time and picture even though it is technically off.
So me and my buddy dump in the tune and it goes through it's normal cycles and the stereo actually totally powers down during the tune (goes blank) just for a moment and then starts back up. Then when you do the next key cycle it shuts off and that is it. I actually have to disconnect the wiring harness for a period of time, push the reset button on the stereos microprocessor (mini computer) several times and then it finally restarts.
So I thought it was a fluke the first time, then when I went to change a setting in the tune and dumped in the new tune it happened again. So it is not a fluke, it is somehow shutting the computer down inside the deck or in the computer of the truck so it isn't recognized when I turn on the key for power? I know this may sounds weird, maybe not???? Has anyone had any issues like this before?
(yes I could disconnect it before I do a tune mod, but I have to pull it out of the dash to do that and that sucks.)
Any ideas?

Ive had a stereo with the little black box your talking about, its inline with the yellow memory wire correct? It is some sorta capacitor or something it doesnt have anything to do with the computer. Im assuming that you dont have the 7 speaker infinity, but the diablo tune should not be affecting the radio at all. My suggestion would be to pop off the face plate, or disconnect the radio during the tune. When you see the radio "turn off" its probably the tuner reseting the pcm/tcm.
No I do not have the infinity system, I know which wire your talking about and yes it does have that, but their is another one that comes directly off the multiple pin plug with a bunch of wires in and some out of it and it actually has a red LED inside it that lights up when their is power. I tried removing the face plate the very first time and that didn't help. I guess the next step would be to unplug the damn thing. I posted on Diablo to see what I get off their as well. My buddy and I thought this was really strange also. He didn't think this should affect the deck either but it has happened every time I tried to drop in a tun.
To anyone that may incur this issue with a non factory head deck or other electronic hooked into the interface of the vehicle via can bus, here is what I found out on the issue of my vehicle not recognizing my stereo after a tune install with the Diablo or any flash programmer. This comes direct from Scosche, whom is the maker of the special box which is a Radio Replacement interface for Chrysler CAN BUS system. I have not tried this yet but this is what they suggest. Thanks for all recommendations and help....

There is a process you can try doing which is have all the doors closed, keys out of ignition, and make sure all the lights are off in the vehicle. Once that has happen unplug the interface wait 1 minute and plug it back in, and then turn the truck on. This is a complete reset to allow our interface to get familiar with the factory computer letting it know when to turn on or off. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us.
Thanks
