Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
02 ram 1500 Quad Cab w/ 5.9 Auto Gibson swept cat-back K&N filter Soft Tonneau and five of those cheap little magnets you put on your fuel line that are supposed to help and I'm lucky to get 12.7 on a good day
07 5.7 quad cab short box 4X4 just took the kids on a road trip - 17 mpg both ways. I kept the dealer sticker with the estimated 25mpg on it, we bring it out after a bad day at work when we need a good chuckle!!!!!
Ok, I'm back. Total mileage was 5351. Average speedof highway driving 66.3 mph (according to my GPS). Mileage 19.9 miles per gallon.
I just got an 04 Ram 1500 regular cab, long box 4x2 with the 4.7 V8, 5A, 3.55 rear and 39k miles.
I'm getting about10mpg city, 18 highway and about 12.5 mixed. I'm disapointed. My 86 F150 5.0L AOD 4x4 gets 12 city, 20 highway and 14.5 mixed.... Both driven about the same and on the same routes. Dare I say that it looks like a clapped out 21 year old Ford can beat a new Dodge??? [8D]
To be fair I have a turbo muffler on the ford and the stock exhaust on the dodge, but you'd think they could improve a little in 18 years? It's got 218k miles and gets better gas mileage?
Anyway, I'm in search of mileage. I'm going to check tire pressure, change the exhaust, go synthetic, etc...
