Silver....
NOOOO!! Dammit....... I had the ol man help me, since I had no idea what I was doing. I brought up the thing about the grease on the pads, he just pretty much denounced it as being "pointless", in so many words. Now, he used to be a master mechanic, and runs a VERY successful transmission shop, but sometimes I think he refuses to listen to me. Just like he argued with me about the theory that I'd get better mpg's going with lower gears to counter the bigger tires and small motor......
Flame me, I'm ready for it.......

I paid for them through paypal I believe on Saturday night. It was probably processed and cleared on Monday. It was shipped out today (May 11th 2010) and is supposed to be here tomorrow on the 12th from IL. Pretty fast if you ask me throughout the process! I will let you know how it goes. I think I will attempt to get them installed tomorrow night if I recieve them!

i'm running that combo on all four wheels and i tell ya its freakin awesome, stops like and brand new truck,
one thing i did after i put them on was drive up to 35 mph and then apply them but DON'T STOP do that 2 more times then at 55 mph 3 times but DON'T stop then drive for 10 mins to cool them, thats what i was told to do to "burn in my rotors and pads" apperently it gets ride of that 400 mile soft break feeling that some guys have.
so one more time its
1. accelerate to 35 mph
2. apply brakes but dont stop
repeat 1&2 3 times
3. accelerate to 55mph
4. apply brakes dont stop
repeat 3&4 2 times
5. drive around for 5-10 mins to cool them down
worked for me
ps. make sure you lube the anti rattle clips

Well guys I got my rotors and pads today! I am happy to say I am 100% impressed so far of how much better my truck drives. It feels better than new to me! My original parts were worse than I thought. I went through all the steps after putting them on and WOW what a difference. No more shake and pulsating and brakes on a dime! I will be doing the back ones soon but for now here are the fronts:

I cleaned up all the parts as needed and I was debating on doing a little painting but after a full day of work then doing this I said screw it! I just care how my truck drives. I do recommend doing this upgrade over the OEM parts as of right now. We will see how it works out long term soon enough.

Anyone using the direct replacement Brembo set? They are not slotted&drilled, but come with a great reputation.

I'm researching this same issue as I tow a 5th wheel camper. Just got a new to me 2007 and want it to STOP when I tow.
Ceramic pads are always boasting their dust free, cool temp pad, but not much in the line of stopping power, though the import sports cars use them (they stop on a dime and leave you 9 pennies change).
I am thinking of going with EBC pads. Not sure on what brand rotors.
To seat the brake pads and rotors, you could have them (rotors) turned once.
