regular maintenece and any of those oils and you will make it as long as you drive nice.

This is more of a piece of mind issue, and it appears you feel very secure in your oil choice.

I always thought it was weight too, even back when i ran havoline 10w-30 in my old 62 falcon. I read somewhere the w is winter rating referring to the temperature. IE: 5W-20 has the characteristics of a 20 weight in 5 degree temps. so when its 5 degrees out, the engine will turn over just as good as it does at 100 degrees. I once went to Michigan where it was minus 10 outside. i had straight 30 in my car and the next morning it took me 5 hours to get that thing to turn over. when I finally got it started i hauled butt back to Tx. as fast as I could get there.
Another thing I was told is that the ports in the engine are designed to let the oil flow back to the pan at a certain rate and putting a thicker oil in the engine that what it calls for will not let the oil flow like its supposed to. When it comes to oil filters, fram is just fine and it wont void your warranty, refer to the Mavis-Beacon act.
well thats my story and I'm stickin to it.. love my classic 1500.
I just noticed this post is ten years old,, sorry guys..

5w-30 oil has the characteristics of a 5weight oil when cold, and 30 when actually warmed. "Multiviscosity"...... Makes cold starting easier.

Just a note. Chrysler uses Pennzoil at the dealers. Semi-synthetic 5w20. I have always let my dealer do the oil changes on all 3 of my Dodges (07 Grand Caravan, 08 Hemi Ram and the wife's 09 caliber. They do it cheaper than I can do it myself and since all 3 have the factory Lifetime Powertrain Warranty, The oil change records are on file. $40 for the ram is a bargin since it takes 7qt's plus a filter. It cost me more than that for just the oil and filter when I changed my niece's oil Fusion.
