Cool Cleaning Engine Compartment

I was wondering how some of you out there clean your engine compartment. I was thinking about using a Hotsy on low power to clean it.

I have cleaned mine. Just make sure not to go CRAZY with the water. I know dealers clean the engines when they buy used trucks. So I dont think you will have an issue.

i used regular degreeser and some brushes/rags. warm up the engine a little and spray some degreaser. but if you have access to a hotsy than combine both. dont turn on the engine, spray degreaser let it sit for a few than use the hotsy. just make sure that you cover the altenator, intake, and other vurnable spots.

Here is my before and after without a steamwash, of coarse i did some paint touch ups here and there.

I use the engine cleaner at the car wash. It does wonders. I never had an issue and turns out great. But I agree with these guys a good steam jenny and some gunk engine degreaser will do the trick.

I use Simple Green. Just spray it on, let it sit, and hose it off. But my engine is never really dirty so it's easier to keep up.
