I joined the forum a few years ago when I was driving my old 97 Dodge Ram 1500 ext. cab 5.2L V8, but she unfortunately she met her demise as a result of cash for clunkers and I got my 08 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5L HO V6. This past weekend after about a year and a half of driving the Charger I finally couldn't handle the V6 engine and upgraded to the new love of my life, my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4dr Big Horn Edition 4.7L V8 and I couldn't be happier. So, I'm back to the forums and looking to do some upgrades to the truck.
Immediate plans:
Window tint
Flowmaster 40 Series Dual Exhaust
Front end blub upgrades probably Nighthawks
Hella lights behind grill in engine compartment
Westin Bull Bar

I'm not lifting or lowering it, well maybe a leveling kit in the future, idk. I read the common problems and the FAQ, but would like to know if there are any other mods that anyone has an idea on that would take this truck from perfect to biblical haha. Also any heads up on things I should definitely get checked would be greatly appreciated. I am pretty good with mechanical and electrical work so I would love any and all DIY links.

Just a little introduction for my fellow Dodge lovers. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of this plethora of information. Thanks in advance to any help/comments.

At 4 years old, I'd do a tune-up if'n it were me, or at least a full fluid change. No matter when it was done last, there is no telling what fluids were used.

The 4.7 is a solid engine, but is prone to oil sludge issues and if ever allowed to over-heat, it could turn into a nightmare with anything from a head gasket to cracked heads resulting.

At the very least, change the oil and look at the old oil closely. Check the coolant and if it's the least bit iffy, flush it out and replace with good coolant. You can't afford any kind of build-up in that radiator...

nice truck man. good color choice. IMO I say you get an eraser wheel and get rid of that side pin stripe.

All right that's why I loved this forum when I had the old dodge. I'll be gettin the fluids swapped soon. Thanks Hammer. I'm gettin out today if the rain holds up and installin my sound system and gettin a few more snap shots to add to my photobucket. Ram-bo I actually like the pin stripe it will go along with the low-profile black toolbox I'm gettin. I saw a post where someone flipped the M in RAM and that looked pretty sick, but when I reapply it is there a certain 3m tape or somethin I need to get?

That was definitely one of the selling points between this truck and another I was looking at Bama.
