Default How to get better MPG's??

I have a 2006 hemi and I was looking at getting a lift for my truck this spring... But with the gas prices supposed to be going up through the roof this spring and summer months I need to get some better MPG's
What are some good mods that could help with this?? Chip, intake, exhaust?? and what kinds?
Thanks.

Plugs, probably. Replace the air filter, clean the TB. Add a smidge of air to the tires you have. As for chip/intake/exhaust, it'll take a long time just to break even. The improvement of those add-ons is minimal.

Well think about how much its gonna cost you to do the mods. I would bet you that it wouldnt make the diff up in "extra" miles at the pump. So it would end up costing you more to do a bunch of mods. I have up'd my mileage this week from 12.4 to 14.2 by just slowing down. I have a 08 1500 hemi w/flowmaster 40's dumped. thats my only mod.

Actually, one of my co-workers traded his 4.7 Ram on a KIA during the panic when gas went to $4.50. His mileage wasn't much better, plus he traded a nearly-paid-off truck for the KIA with a note. He recently traded the KIA for a Dakota 4.7.

As for a CAI improving the mileage - not likely unless you combine it with an exhaust (better breathing) and then you have to balance the cost with the "savings". Would probably take two years or so to break even.

yea gettin a lift is only goin to hurt youat the pump...get a leveling kit..they make a rig look good...also replace all your fluids with synthetic, that will make a diff..also replace the plugs and you can make yourself a CAI for cheap, maybe a nice set of headers to go with the CAI & muffler will make a lil diffrence IMO

No mod will give you the benefit that you will get from simply keeping the truck tuned properly and using synthetic fluids everywhere. Keep tire pressure at 80% of max PSI and drive intelligently.

About the only mod that will pay for itself in a reasonable amount of time would be going to an efan...
