Default Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plugs

Any thoughts on Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plug?

I know they are ridiculously expensive $11+, but after a current rebate, I can pick them up for less than $2 ea. I was thinking about giving them a try.

Thanks!

You can try them if they're that cheap for you but the best plugs found for our trucks are the cheap and reliable copper plugs sold by either Champion or NGK

Ditto on the copper standards. Anything else is overkill.

you may find a few people who will claim that theoretically some of those "fancier" plugs should be better, but most will agree the coppers work great on the hemi, no need to do anything else really. There are quite a few spark plug threads if you wanna go read the debate.

There are actually some posts floating around here that say the fancier, more expensive plugs don't work as well. The conventional wisdom here is that not only does the hemi run fine with the standard copper core plugs, it actually prefers them for best performance. I can't speak from experience because the standard ones are all I've ever used.

Thats been my understanding as well, but for $2 I didn't figure I could go wrong. For that price I'll probably buy both and compare the two.

The 5.9L also likes copper plugs, but since you only need 8 instead of 16 like the 5.7, it's a cheap experiment.

SRT hemis run platt plugs...I sure dodge went with the coppers on the base hemis as a cost savings, I verry seldom get over 40,000 km out of the stock champions, if pays do the plugs your self as dealers like the limited life of copper plugs.

Coopers have been firing in engines ever since time began, im just not prepared for the intial investement of 16 platt plugs.. But I will try them if a big name spark plug company will donate me a set!!

No kidding. I was just at Canadian Tire this morning and one plug was 11$. Can't imagine ever spending close to 200$ with tax on plugs!

I used to work for Crappy Tire and the markup on those "expensive" plugs are crazy. $11 retail but they only cost 5ish bucks. Don't get fooled by shiny packaging and high price thinking they are better.
