Whats your MPG?
Hi I have a 2005 ram 1500 5.7 QC I bought the truck about 1month ago the first tank of gas I got 9.2 MPG 230 miles on the tank of gas and I did not have my foot in the gas. So I got the superchips cortex tuner and installed the mileage tune and got a K&N air filter and now I am getting 12.6 MPG I am only at a half tank so not sure if it will stay at 12.6. I drive almost all city miles but I should be getting better then 12.6 right. Let me know what kind of MPG you guys are getting. thanks

I have a k&n filter but everything else is stock since I could never get a tuner to work. I get around 14 city driving and 18.5 on the highway. If I behave with the speed limit and the throttle, I can push the highway mileage above 19. So yours seems kind of low, especially before the mods, but city driving and mileage is so relative to the conditions and how much stop and go you have to do.

The best I ever saw stock with my truck was about 11 city and 20 highway, average at least. With my mods including a 6" lift, bigger off road tires, tuner and CAI. My city went down to about 9 city and 18 highway but that's good in my mind considering the lift and tires. I still don't know how people see 13+ mpg city but I really wish I knew how they did it. Unless their city consists of 40 mph roads in 5th gear because that's the only time I've hit 14 mpg city

Definately depends on your definition of City. I'd never dream of getting more than 12 in the city but for me it's all stop and go and idling at lights. 10 is more like it on average. Now I did get like 15 driving aroung Vegas for 3-4 days a while back but every main road involved cruising along at 40-50 with hardly any stops in the burbs on the way to shopping and rv dealers. I wouldn't consider that typical city but if that's your daily drive to work, then you be whining if only getting 13-14.

yeah i think your right. if anyone drives alot of stop and go in the city i can't see them gettiing 14mpg. I see people post that after they do the e-fan mod they get a 1 mpg gain if that is true i would get 13.6 mpg city. has anyone done the e-fan mod and if so what was your mpg gain?

As I said, city is very relative to conditions. Where I live, my city wouldn't even qualify as a suburb of a real city. However, the speed limit is never over 35mph. But not a ton of lights and sitting at idle is minimal. You can throw money and gadgets at it but you can't make a Ram into a Prius. Best thing you can do is just make sure maintenance is up to date and everything is running properly. If I'm getting so hard up for gas money that I am trying to squeeze out an extra MPG, it's time to go buy the Prius and park the Ram.
