Default Eleectric cut-out problem!

I've had my cut out since June and had been working fine until about september, when i started to notice it wasnt closing all the way and i can now hear a leak. when i HOLD the switch to shut, it sounds wonderful. but as soon as i let go, its as if the cut-out opens slightly and it sounds real bad & cheap. i've been dealing with it since september, but it finally got to me after driving 4 hours back from school the other day....i tried oiling it up and cleaning it, but still sounds "hollow" any advise from the cut-out guys?

yes that is what i have heard that is bad about getting them.....metal expands and shrinks with heat, so eventually you will not get a true fit causing it to leak.. The only solution is to go back to a traditional exhaust.....solid pipe

could be a worn gasket. But if it isn't closing fully anymore, call DMH up, they have a 4 year warranty. [/align]

What is the manufacturer of the unit so I can avoid purchasing it?

its a DMH cutout. but its a really good product, alot of good reviews, but i guess with the weather here in NJ something happened. but thanks for the input guys, i'll probably hit up DMH and see what the deal is with their warranty.

I would call DMH too. Sounds like you just got a bad pressure spring. It stays closed because the motor is forcing it shut, but when you release it the spring is supposed to hold it in place. Probably, just a bum part and the warranty will cover it.

ORIGINAL: VaderPainter

I went and picked up my tonneau cover today and installed it, with the guy I purchased it from. The black paint was a perfect match for my truck. Seems he purchased from the dealer when he bought his truck new in 2005 for well over $1200. I could not have been happier when it went on without a problem and matched the paint perfectly for the low price of $500. I will get some updated pics of the truck up in a couple of weeks once I have a chance to go and do some more shots.
ummm......

I think you clicked the wrong thread

I have had no problem with mine. I have heard of a very few number of guys having problems and they send a NEW unit out right away, #1 reason I went with them. 4 year warranty.

Well, let us know how they deal with this issue. It will be interesting to know if they back their products or not.
