2005 Ram Front End Rattle/Clunking (AT LAST FIXED TODAY)
Tighten your torsion bar in the front end. If it clunks when your turning that means its loose. I had this problem when i turned and it made a clunk, also did it going over bumps. Just tighten that nut up and its all fixed!!
UPDATE, The dealer has replaced all the sway bar bushings today and we still have the issue. The tech is talking to the service manager to see what can be done now.
ALSO LSMAN,
I called the service adviser and told them to check that too. Thank you for the input

I would love to know what the HELL this noise is because it seems a lot of people with 2005 rams have it!! It is funny how no one can get it fixed. I am surprised that Dodge has not step in to find what this noise is because they are spending a lot of money on parts that is not fixing the problem. Look at my truck so fare 2 set of end links, upper and lower control arms, both tie rods, and front shock twice. I still have my noise.
If I get in to a car accident because something brakes and that was the noiseI will SUE Dodge!!!! SO lets hope we find out what it is soon!

I spent an hour last Saturday with my mechanic looking at everything. Had the truck up on the hoist and just cant find a thing. Took a pry bar to move everything we could and no luck. Two of us bounced the truck up and down while on the ground while my mechanic carefully looked and listened. No luck. I even took off my drivers side step bar to see if that had anything to do with it. This weekend I will drive through nasty roads with pot holes to see what the heck happens. The sway bar end links (or whatever you call them seem to be fine. Sway bar bushings appear to be fine. Having just done u joints, upper and lower ball joints and shocks already this noise is making me lose sleep.

Mine are after market. Bolt through two body mounts plus two spots to the frame. Have not had any time to take the truck out for a good drive since last Saturday to see if anything is different. I don't think my step bars are the problem even though I took one off. Just working through process of elimination. I'll try loosening the cross members, applying some grease and re torquing.
Well yet another update, The truck is still at the dealer as of today. I told them I don't want it back this time till they find the issue. They are pulling their hair out now, the lead tech is already bald too. LOL
Yesterday they replaced all the sway bar bushings and nothing!
Today they re tightened the cross member and torsion bar bolts. They also removed the aftermarket step bars. I know its not an accessory causing the noise. Its a mechanical part in the front end somewhere. I am floored that with all the fancy tools and the years of knowledge from the mechanics they cant locate this dam noise. They told me today they cannot give me a loaner car I would have to rent one for 20.00 a day. Cant believe this stuff.
