i was reading in a magazine today at work that for the 2010 ram 1500 would have the option of a diesel engine. either a 5.6 cummins or i believe a 4.8

the 5.6 puts out 300 horses and 460 ftlbs of torque.

weird to hear a diesel in a 1/2 ton.

 

forgot to mention that i also saw that, that damn toyota tundra is putting out a 8.0 HINO diesel dually......WTF

Truck trend from last month says the half ton will not have the 5.6, but a "baby cummins" Who knows what that will be. Should have about that power though, that is output for the chevy 1/2 ton diesel, and that is who dodge will be competing with.

Yeah, the HINO equipped dually will have a 24k pd tow rating...

 

last i heard from that truck trends, was 585 ft/lbs of torque, as with the half ton, toyota doesnt pay much atttention to what the big three are doing.

 

i think dodge and other AMERICAN companies need to blow toyotas sh*t out of the water...come on cummins...

Well in many businesses as in mine we already have many service trucks that are diesel so we would like a 1/2 ton diesel truck as well. To this point there is none but we have been asking as have others. One of the guys started talking Prius', I said FT....
