New found problem w/ truck
Okay, when its in drive, but the brakes are on, it has the rattleing sound on the passenger side, under the hood.
AND
If, I'm driving for about agood 20 mins, then stop at a stop sign, the oil gauge will drop all the way down and the siren will go off, and as soon as I start driving again, it will go back up..
WHAT GIVES!!
Any ideas to either..

It sounds like an internal oil leak. In other words, the oil from the oil pump has found a way out of the oil passages it's supposed to stay in and is leaking into the open areas inside the engine and back into the oil pan. Pressurized oil from the oil pump is supposed to go to the bearings and lifters before going back to the pan. Some of your oil may be going back to the pan before it gets to where it's supposed to go.
You just had your engine re-done by a shop, right? I'd take it back to them and get them to fix it.

If this is what is happening, I would get to the shop today and not be driving it around. Just my thoughts. Red
I don't know too much about these Dodge motors yet.... but it sound like the leak stated above or either a faulty oil pump or an error when they put it together....
I would also nto drive it until I knew what it was, but....
I would put big money on the sending unit, well if it was an engine that was not just tore apart. I guess you have other variables. A sending unit would not hurt it if you drive it. But once again you have lots of variables.
Does the engie tick when the oil goes to low pressure or does it sound normal?

ThatUSUALLY means it is just a bad sending unit. An engine without oil pressure begins to tick very fast.
They are cheap, pick one up at a local parts store and have your BF put it on, simple fix and something to try before spending big $$ and time.
