Default My Truck Was Almost Stolen!

This past weekend, I made an overnighter to Arlington, TX, and when I arose the next morning to load up my stuff, I noticed my door handle was all Jacked up. It looks like someone tried to steal my truck and was "interrupted". Now I need to replace my door handle. The dealership wants $227. Are there any other options?

BTW, my truck is an '04 Hemi Quad Cab SLT

I think the only ones I've seen aftermarket are the fancy ones, chrome, billet & unique shapes.
If you want oem to match the rest pm Parts/Service, he can usually ship you one from the dealership he works at and save you a good bit off the local dealer.
I got him to send me the luggage racks for my Grand Cherokee and even with shipping (a fairly large/heavy box) he beat my dealer by about $40 and NO TAX...

Yea, I know, I just looked (no luck on oem) and found some awesome looking tribal flame billet ones for $85 a piece, whole handles, not just covers...

They probably weren't trying to steal your truck. Just everything inside of it. I had the same thing happen to me in Houston while I was in a meeting at a hotel. I had to replace the door handle and had to bend back the sheetmetal on the door. I don't think it cost me near that much for the parts. I would highly recommend staying with the factory door handle though.

Whoa man, That sucks. Do you have a security system? Most people around here wont mess with cars with those blue blinking lights. I love my security. I know everything should be safer. Im about to upgrade it though so I will know when it has gone off and why. Also, I would just stay with the original door handle, heck, you can go to a junk yard and get one off a truck there. Those flame ones look cool, but someone might try to steal those off your truck.

I also need to replace the keyhole, if that makes any difference. And Justn, I didn't have anything valuable in my truck, the only thing visible was my son's carseat, for just this reason.

Sorry to hear that. Chances are they were after the truck. Truck thefts are big, especially in TX. Rams are easy to get into and not much harder to steal. Look into RAVELCO for security. I am still considering Jimmi Jammer, but not sure is they work.
