well remember the kit kit is universal, so MOST likely you wont have enough power wire. Also the kits are usually small 8g. I have 4g wire but i wish I installed 0g. All you need is the necssary length of power and ground in the guage you prefer. A fuse holder with a 100 amp fuse. Your RCA cables and remote turn on lead. Have the RIGHT ends crimped on. Also many people forget or don't know about the big 3 upgrade but in our trucks its the Big 5. Run 0g wire from the alt to the battery post, post to battery positive. The negative: battery to body, battery to frame and I think there is a engine to frame.

RF has 4 awg kits and 0awg as well. the wire is soft and flexible easy top work with. power wires are usually 17' i think plenty for our trucks

I swear that better just be a link to show us what set you got and not that you actually bought them from crutchfield.com . . .

Other than that, I'm pretty d*** sure they sound awesome. I'm still waiting to piece my whole set up together before I try my first install ever and hopefully turn out well. Waiting for that Christmas, Bonus, Tax return money to finish this up

hell no, i got them at onlinecarstereo for $180. They are a little less rms rating than the type R's which better fit my amp. Type R's are nice but are more geared to being loud whereas the type X are all about sound quality but not AS loud. I will take pictures as I install. right now I have a template for my speaker mounts. Most just use a square piece of wood but I need everything to be perfect. I just have one question. Where should I mount the tweeter, A-pillar, above the infinity emblem on the door, or more by the switch panel on the door?

kx250frider617, Please please please, when you do your front component install, take pictures I've never installed speakers or upgraded any sound systems so I'm curious how to mount/secure the cross-overs if you put them inside the door panel. I plan on flush mounting my tweeters above my dodge symbol (would be infinity if I had the system). I'm so anxiously-excitedly-pissed off I can't start the install yet LoL and have to wait to get all the other things (amp [waiting for ebay price to drop a bit more] and all the wiring).

Any of you running aftermarket alternators or are our stock ones sufficient enough, this just crossed my mind because for the first Christmas in years I actually want something rather than $ so I can decide later . . . and that's an Optima Yellow Top D34/78 battery

I'd love to have dual posts so I can mount my future speaker applications to the front set with 0/2-4-8g terminals and stock/normal stuff to the top.
