anyone just swap out mufflers?
just wondering if anyone has just changed out the stock muffler for an aftermarket? rather than a whole new exhaust. i just measured my 04, 4.7, and it seems the length of the actual muffler (not overall length) is 27" and the outlets are 3", center in/offset (ontop) out.

i just changed my stock muff to a super 44 flowmaster, i dumped it cause i like the deep sound. But dumping it makes it a really cheap job, mine all together was about 100 with install. im sure a reputable shop would be able to fill in the gaps of your stock plumbing if the muff you want isnt the same size

yea, im lookin to do it myself, ive done all my other stuff myself. except with experience i can tell everyone that the flowmaster exhausts that are non weld, all clamps. dont hold up. the clamps come loose and next thing you know your pipes are dragging. i'm trying to find an exact fit to take out the old one and stick the new one in.
but im sure i'll have to spend the extra money to end up having a shop do it or somethin
