alright.
red wire from pos. battery to the correct spot on the relay
green wire. from relay to middle slot on the rocker switch
black wire connecting the two lights then to the relay
blue wire connect to the lamp and grounding on the crossmember where i mounted them on.
yellow wire from the relay to the switch

Uh, 85 should be ground and 86 should be switch. That diagram can't be right.

Dont pay attention to diagram just run your 85 to ground...

my green wire is just from the relay to the switch not to the headlights and i think i have the green wire in the middle of the rocker switch and no ground wire for my relay. everything else is the same

The relay has to have ground or it won't work.

I was going to ask where the 4th wire on your relay was, but thought it was hidden from view.

OK your relay must be grounded to activate the switch inside the relay. The diagram is wired different than your truck. From what you have told me your relay is not working and I think its the ground...
