Im bout to do a tune up and was wondering if anybody has bought them MDS coil packs? Was also wondering if anybody uses any of these new crazy spark plugs they got out. Thanks for any help!

the cummins can pretty much plug in a chip and gain upwards of 100hp.. hemi- not so much... you want to gain on a diesel? my advice would be steeper gears (4.56), got extra cash laying around? (ha ha) supercharger?, maybe x/h pipe? but its hard for a hemi to really outperform a highly modded/chipped cummins...

just my take on hemi vs cummins...

There's really no way you're going to keep up with, let alone beat, a chipped CTD, unless you plan on spending some SERIOUS cash. You have to remember, it's not at all unlikely for a CTD to be able to get anywhere from 700 to 1000 lb/ft of torque with some reasonable mods.

Could you build a Hemi that could beat a truck with something liek that in it? Yes. Would it have a snowballs chance in hell of remaining anything even close to driveable on the street? Absolutely not.

i don't even get why you would try to make a comparison???

your comparing a natural aspirated gasoline engine to a turbo charged diesel, its like comparing a bicycle to a car, doesn't make sense.

What do canned tuned diesels run in the 1/4 anyway? Can't be all that fast considering all the weight....i'm guessing mid 14's?

depends on what the truck has for mods.... 4x4 boosted launch can get that 7-8k lb truck rolling pretty quick

That's way more than a tune bro....probably full bolt-on, tune and turbo swap.

you can very easily get a turbo diesel to pump out 5-600 horsepower. If you really work them over, you can get over 1000 ft lbs of torque out of em. thats pretty hard to touch with any gasser, for the same amount of money.

you aint gonna touch a ctd. dont waste your time. my last truck was a f350 with the 7.3 and all i had was a programmer, exhaust and cai and I played with hemis all day long. now im saving up for a REAL truck and looking for a 2500 or 3500 5.9. stock the ctd is already at 600-650 ft pounds of torque and thats what pins you in your seat and gets you going. throw a programmer on that and your now in the mid 700 torque area. why waste your time and money with the hemi when you could just buy a ctd? now im all pro dodge and will never go back and this 4.7 i got is just to hold me over but why even compare the ctd to a hemi? when you wanna really haul tail and make heads turn get a ctd, throw a programmer on it and a cai and dump the exhaust, no muffler or cat cause you can get away with that on a diesel and get ready to buy a lot of rear tires lol
