I'm anxious to see how you make out, my pod is installed with the gauge in it, but the sensor and wire is tie wrapped inside for now. I was set to drop the pan and tap a hole, as I was told by 2 performance shops I'd have to do, but have hesitated because my tranny fluid ain't even 10k old and is synthetic, not cheap!!!
My only question is why would a couple of performance places not know about doing it this way?

Actually thought about going the three gauge pod route, but I need the handle to pull my fat a$$ into a lifted truck. Thought very seriously about going to an aftermarket diff cover with the bung already in it and a drain plug, but I'm thinking the tranny temp is more important to monitor.
The A/F would be nice when I do the cam and custom tune, but since I'm not sure how long it'll be before I do that, I figured the $16 temp gauge was the way to go...

ok, newb here to this forum but not to dodges as some here may know me from DT but glad to be here as there is some good info.
Want to do this soon and wanted to know what you guys thought about the accuracy on the #3 test port compared to cutting the line or other methods cuz i like the test port since there's no cutting of OEM stuff, lol
