Damn, that really sucks. I'm sorry for you. I would be pissed were I in your shoes. But it looks like she sure hit you damn good, but maybe not where it counts. As said, your tires appear to be sitting straight, and your steps don't appear to be messed up at all. She may have been high enough to just keep from catching your frame and instead messing up only the cab.
But when you start figuring new fuel tank, bed, front fender, whatever needs to be replaced on the actual cab itself, instrument cluster, etc; that stuff can start raking up the dollar signs. Then if she created any problem with the instrument cluster causing it to mess something up in the pcm, I just know that electrical problems get very costly. To diagnose and repair a switch with high resistance, you're looking at over $200, so diagnosing computer problems will be more.

I'm glad you are ok. I hope you realize that you don't want to sign something from her insurance company until you are sure you are fine and they are willing to pay you what the truck is worth. Typically they will have contacted you and offered you money if you sign. You lose all of your rights as soon as you do that.

Typically they'll offer as little as they think they can get away with. If they low ball you it's well worth paying for a professional appraiser, about 150, as they will stand behind you in court. This is where the insurance company will pay what they have to.

Please don't let those people take advantage of you. If they pressure you then call an attorney. They have no right to put pressure on you and you don't have to sign anything until you feel it is safe to do so. Can you tell I don't like insurance companies? Good reasons for it. Do some research and you'll see what I mean.

Best wishes on your recovery.

Bloody women drivers... call me sexist, I don't care, most of the moron drivers I see are either 16-24 year old girls on the phone, driving like morons, soccer moms who think their minivans and SUVs are corvettes, and old women in land yachts. I'd say a good 80% of the time I see a stupid driver, it's a women.

Damn ! Sorry to see and hear this.

I'd say the truck did pretty well. Being able to drive off is a good thing.

Would you rather it get fixed or get an 09' ?

My roommate just said something I had to share:

Why do women need drivers licenses anyhow? It's not like they can fit a car in the kitchen.

I have to agree. Anymore, if there is an accident holding up traffic, there is always a young woman there who was usually the cause of the accident and probably texting at the time. I see them doing it on the road all of the time and it burns me up!!
