Why didn't you get a diesel?
Just wondering, When you bought your ram why didn't you get a CTD? Was it just cost or was there another reason?
Kinda wish I had, But at the time I knew very little about them and didn't seem anyone else was getting diesel engines. I beleive in a couple years when my truck is paid off, Ill trade it in for 2500 CTD.

I did. but i did formerly own a half ton gasser....after a few months of figuring trucks out...i want a cummins from then on and didnt stop until i got one. once i did it has been nothing but a money pit...now that im at 800+ hp and i gotta be well over 1500 ft lbs of torque...havent had it on the dyno though.... most people dont buy them simply because of the cost....i know that the cummins is a $6000 feature over the hemi, IIRC 4x4 is another 4 grand, and these are just features that are already an upgrade of the 2500 HD package from the 1500

Diesel? no, don't need one, I'm not on a mega towing binge or on a ego trip, a 2500 hemi is till a lot of truck that is just as good as a CTD, but can't tow as much.
For a daily driver, a CTD is the most impractical set of wheels you can own, for a work truck or a tower, A CTD fits the bill,, for a higher price.

well im on a ego trip LMAO. but seriously, to me its fun, i have more power than i could ever imagine, too much for the street actually, also skating around on 40's im still getting 19 mpg on the highway, so thats my justification as using it as a daily driver. i was pushing 35s in my gasser 3rd gen and was lucky to get 11 mpg. that and the fun of the soot never ends!

The truck I bought at a deal of a lifetime didn't care that it was gas at all. Although if I were to go diesel it sure as hell would be a Ford or possibly a GM. Why? I hate the sound of a cummins. I have heard many different exhaust setups they all sound like damn tractors. Sorry but I will sacrifice the aparent cool factor that comes with the cummins for something that if properly modified will last good and sound way better.

I don't tow alot and when I do its a small amount, However, everything I have read and understand is that diesel's get better mileage, are more efficient, and usually trucks with diesel engines last a hell of alot longer. On top of that, I have met several people that make there own fuel that they combine with pump fuel to cut there fuel charges almost in half.
One guy I met has a 90's 3500 dually with a ctd 320+ thousand miles on it and has been running his own brew of fuel for the last 200K miles. He tells me that he spends about 150 a month of fuel. I watched this truck yank out a 6 inch diameter stump like it wasn't even in the ground, I tried with my gasser first and didn't even budge. Left a 6ft deep hole in the ground.
