Switched to synthetic at 16k miles. Got the tick, was worried but warranty will take care of me. I'm now at like 31k, mobil1 synthetic with mobil 1 filter 201, ticks sometimes but not always.

When I looked into the mobil 1 filter, it had some type of glue at the bottom. Should I be worried? and did you have it too?

But anyways,- probably hemi tick, if not check oil level and if the filters properly installed.

 

Just curious how many people got the hemi tick after they went to synthetic oil? I'm almost positive i did not have it when i ran conventional oil. I only put 3,000 miles a year on truck,so i figured i would use synthetic and just change oil once a year. Might have to go back to conventional and see if tick goes away. I bought my truck new and started using Mobil 1 after the initial 5000 miles. I have had the tick on occassion but it quickly goes away. My truck has been sitting for the last 6 months and when I went to start it today I fully expected it to have the tick. It didn't, fired up as if I had just driven yesterday. It took the tires a few miles to smooth out. But "No tick". Has anyone determined what extactly is the tick? Lifter?
