I just did this on my 06 quad cab 4.7L and i didnt feel any difference in the shifts. I hooked it up exactly like the pictures showed. Did i do something wrong? And it seems like it has trouble shifting out of 4th into 5th. it will stay in 4th until i left off the gas a little then it shifts into 5th.

edited: Wait,... ok yeah i feel it. its a tab bit firmer than before but not as much as a flash paq does.

Well, I made the jumper and will install in the morning, we will see. I am always a little afraid I'll get what I paid for. Practically nothing.... At least the Pwr Wire felt like it freed up the engine a little. We will see what the gas pump has to say.

i guess as a quick fix to see how or if this will work for you guys, you can just get the resistor and Scotch Lok or T tap it in place and try it out. if you notice a difference then make something more perm like in this thread.

This IS NOT a mod I would do with a vehicle that has the trans support from either of the tuners unless you know exactly how much they raise the line pressure within thier canned tune, how much adding the resistor raises it and how much the trans can handle.

Actually, if the tuners do infact raise the line pressure, then the resistor would just add to it or override it. I'm guessing that it will add additonal pressure if they are saying not to use in conjuction with, but that could just mean that it overrides their settings??????
Eitherway, you could change the amount of resistance.

I still don't see how adding more line pressure over a tuners settings would do any harm except for have increased pressure. The tune don't know the difference!

ok after having it in for 4-5 days this is my review....

when going from park to drive it takes a couple seconds longer and it kicks in hard. when going from drive to reverse or vica-versa, there is also a couple second delay. the first couple shifts when i first start the truck are not right, meaning itll stay in 1st longer, kick into second for a couple seconds and then my rpm's will jump up as if not in gear, and then into 3rd.... but thats only when i first drive the truck after sitting over night and when im babying it.

besides that the rest of the time the shifts are nice and fast and hard.... especially on wot. now what i didnt do was reset the pcm after installing the resistor, but it didnt say i had to. im wondering if i should try to reset it and see if theres a difference, or to screw it and take the resistor out and cut my losses. it would be a great mod if it worked normally everytime, but i hate it when it shifts and drives weird and i get nervous that im gunna $#@% up my trans. what should i do?

you could use a small torch too. just dont go to crazy with it.

jk360, try to reset your pcm and see if it helps. if it does not, then this mod isnt for you. this is one of those mods (like the PW) that works for some, and not for others. only way to find out is to try. good thing though, is that it doesnt cost a fortune.
