Depends on what your doing... I'd recommend some glazing putty compared to good ol' hard bondo.

its not hard. get the paint down to bare metal, screw on the cowl so that it'll never move, then start the long process of body filler (small amounts at a time), then sand, then fill, then sand (repeat until desired smoothness. then sand with finer and finer grit until its baby bottom smooth. self etching primer, paint, clear.

good find. i forgot one VERY key step lol. Doh!! i'd use some JB weld to glue it on, and use screws to hold it tight till the JBweld dries. once it dries, grind off the screw heads. sorry bout the confusion.

great find with that article!

yeah thanks alot man. i think im just going to do that instead of spending 200$ alone on a premade scoop..
then i could possibly make a couple and sell them. make a couple bucks..

best part is i have a fiberglass kit already in my basement!
jb weld? do u mean under the flaps? and then just bondo out a little bit and sand to blend it in?

i want to add some side air vents kinda like in the acr vipers.. heres a vent i found on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...%3DI%26otn%3D2
i figure i could sand these vents down real nice.. bondo em on and do the exact same thing as im doing with the scoop/cowl..
only problem is.. water.. if it rains waters going to go inside of the scoop. im thinking i may as well just keep it unfunctional and bondo up the holes inside the side vents.

i dont want to have the same scoop as everyone.. especially if i am making it my self.. so heres my idea that i want to work with..

and then add on some side vents..
